Parkland neighbors are stepping up to start a grocery co-op we own together. It's a first step toward more ownership over our own lives, instead of waiting for a big corporation to decide what we get. By investing in ourselves, we keep the value with the people who shop here. How a food co-op works

It's neighbors helping neighbors, and a practical first step toward owning more of our everyday lives.

Neighbors own it

Shoppers buy one member share, once. Every member gets one vote, no matter how much they spend, and members elect the board.

Value stays here

No faraway shareholders or corporate middle layer. What they would take out goes back into fair prices, healthy food, and reaching neighbors who need it most.

Anyone can shop

You don't have to be a member to shop there. Members may share in the profits in good years.

Do I pay anything now?
No. Right now we're only collecting names. Money comes later, and only after the co-op is legally formed with its own bank account. You'll get the details first and can decide then. Signing up isn't a promise to buy, and this page isn't an offer to sell anything.
What's a member share?
A one-time purchase that makes you a part-owner, usually paid all at once or in small payments. It isn't a yearly fee. The price isn't set yet; your answer above helps set it.
Who's organizing this?
Parkland neighbors who want a grocery store that answers to the people who shop there, and who want to reach out to neighbors who have a hard time getting good food. If you'd like to help, check the box above.
Why a co-op?
Because we can do this ourselves. A store we own helps us take care of our families in a healthy, responsible way, keeps our money working close to home, and puts a little more meaning back into everyday life.
Where will the store be?
In Parkland. The exact spot isn't chosen yet. Anyone willing to make the trip is welcome to join and shop.
How long does it take?
Honestly, a few years. New co-ops usually need hundreds of member-owners, a solid plan and a location before they open. Every name on this list makes the case to lenders and landlords, and shows there's a community behind it.
What happens to my information?
